J&B Medical and J&B Pharmacy Recertified as Women’s Business Enterprises
J&B Medical and J&B Pharmacy were both recently recertified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as National Women’s Business Enterprises.
WBENC Certification is the most widely recognized and respected certification for women-owned businesses in the U.S. Thousands of corporations and federal, state and local government entities accept WBENC Certification as the gold standard, confident that WBENC has vetted each business and that each one meets the required criteria.
“At J&B, we believe it is important to be acknowledged as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) as it serves as a source of inspiration for other women,” said Mary Shaya, president of the J&B Medical Family of Companies. “It demonstrates that it is possible for women to establish and thrive in a business. Being a member of this community allows us to connect with like-minded individuals, fostering an environment of mutual support and knowledge-sharing.”
Certified WBEs can participate in year-round virtual, in-person and hybrid business, networking and education opportunities offered by WBENC and its partners. J&B is proud to sponsor events and participate in various dinners and networking events that support Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) programs. Most recently, J&B committed to sponsoring the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council’s 40th Anniversary Celebration event.
J&B also strongly believes in giving back, which is why they’ve created initiatives to support women as part of the company’s broader Inclusion & Diversity strategy. J&B also takes pride in hiring women into leadership positions and their leaders take time to mentor women both inside J&B and beyond. Leaders participate in the WBENC’s MentorWE group mentoring initiative, an invite-only program which pairs certified women business owners mentors with established woman business owners in the same field to advance and develop their businesses through corporate executive and peer mentoring.
J&B also have a long-standing program within the company designed to support other women-owned business which aims to subcontract a percentage of the business to other women-owned businesses.
The company has also developed the Women at J&B Medical initiative to recognize and celebrate the women who contribute to J&B’s success. Employees nominate their peers as outstanding achievers, whose accomplishments are later showcased on J&B Medical’s social channels and blog.
“We are extremely proud to hold the WBENC Certification and we look forward to continuing to inspiring women business leaders through the program,” Shaya added.
