Women of Achievement – Renee Hammons

Renee Hammons

What/who has been inspirational for you personally or professionally?

For inspiration and motivation, my go-to is leadership guru and author John Maxwell. I enjoy his approach to teaching in small, relatable tidbits so it’s easier to process and apply. Also, while she is new to her role at Dynamic Synergy, my manager, Deb Straw, has been very inspirational to me! I have learned so much from her in the short time she has been with the company.

What has been your best accomplishment or the proudest moment throughout your career?

The accomplishment I am proudest of is when I was promoted to Team Support. I was hired at Dynamic Synergy through a temp agency and then offered to come on as a permanent employee; shortly thereafter, I was promoted to Team Support for the incontinence team.

What is a mistake that you made professionally and how did you overcome it and/or learn from it?

My biggest mistake was trying to take on everything at once. I had to be reminded that I am one person and that delegation is a vital part of leadership. My days went smoother when I let go of some stuff and trusted my team to get it done.

As a busy professional, how do you take care of yourself and maintain good mental health?

Self-care is so important! I surround myself with positive people that have similar interests. In my down time, I enjoy crafting, traveling, and attending concerts.

What advice would you have given yourself ten years ago?

Choose your hard – Life is hard don’t let your choices make it harder.
